Resonances for a Semi-Classical Schrödinger Operator Near a Non Trapping Energy Level
Michel
Rouleux
CNRS Luminy, MARSEILLE CEDEX 9, FRANCE
We give an example of a short range potential F on the real line that is dilation analytic at infinity, non trapping at energy E>0, but oscillating in the neighborhood of some points, so rapidly that the Schrödinger operator P=-h2Δ+V shows a string of resonances near E in the lower half plane when h>0 is small enough. The extended states behave as standing waves partially reflected off the bumps of V. Such a potential is the analogue of the Wigner-Von Neumann potential in the case of embedded eigenvalues.

Pairings of p-Compact Groups and H-Structures on the Classifying Spaces of Finite Loop Spaces
Kenshi

We consider the maps between classifying spaces of p-compact groups of the form BX x BY → BZ. The main theorem shows that if the restriction map on BY is a weak epimorphism, then the restriction on BX should factor through the classifying spaces of the center of the p-compact group Z.

Let C be a bounded linear operator which is not necessarily injective. The following statements are proved: (1) hermitian C-semigroups are infinitely differentiable in operator norm on (0, ∞); (2) hermitian C-cosine functions are norm continuous at either non or all of points in [0, ∞); (3) positive C-semigroups which dominate C are infinitely differentiable in opetator norm on [0, ∞); (4) positive C-cosine functions are infinitely differentiable in operator norm on [0, ∞).
