Abstract

We give an alternative proof of a theorem of A. Connes that every unitary cocycle (relative to a modular automorphism of a weight _φ_0) is a Radon-Nikodym unitary cocycle (Dφ:_Dφ_0)t for some faithful normal semifinite weight φ.
