Abstract

Let be a compact m+1-manifold with boundary with an Einstein metric g0, with ricg0 = --mg0 and with pinched negative curvature, such that is convex and umbilical. Let h0 be the induced metric on . Then any metric close enough to h0 is induced on by an Einstein metric g with ricg = --mg on M. A similar (but slightly weaker) result applies to Ricci-flat manifolds.¶¶ Résumé.
