A nonlinear variational problem in relativistic quantum mechanics

We describe several recent results obtained in collaboration with P. Gravejat, C. Hainzl, E. Sere and J.P. Solovej, concerning a nonlinear model for the relativistic quantum vacuum in interaction with a classical electromagnetic field.
